How To Make Homemade Honey & Onion Cough Syrup

Honey and onion syrup is a perfect combination to help combat cough. It is a natural remedy that you can make at home and all you need are onion and honey.
Not only will it save you money, it tastes better than it sounds, and is healthier and more effective than those over-the-counter cough medicine.

Ingredients:
1 cup chopped onion
½ cup raw honey
Instructions:
1. Put chopped onions into a glass pot or small stainless steel. Add enough honey to cover the onions.
2. The pot should be on low heat and let it simmer slowly. The honey will soften and become liquidy. Give it at least 20 minutes of simmering, then remove it from the heat.
3. Strain the onions out and store the remaining honey, in a small glass jar with a lid. Store it in the refrigerator.
Notes:
The syrup can be used as often as needed. See below for the dosages:
1 teaspoon for younger child
1 tablespoon for 10 years and older
Make some fresh syrup every 2 days
