WHO, ICAO Inspect Health Facilities In Nigeria

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have started a two-day check of the emergency medical preparedness in Nigeria.

The exercise was kicked-off at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos State, south west Nigeria.

The Programme’s Coordinator, Mr Michael Vreedenburgh, described the voluntary visit as part of an assistance to improve and prepare for health emergencies in the face of diseases crossing borders via air travel.

He also praised Nigeria’s prompt containment of the Ebola Virus Disease.
